SGS faced challenges in managing leads and growing business

Mr. Amrik Singh Arora is the third generation to lead his family's glass solutions business, SGS. The company is known for providing quality solutions at reasonable prices, avoiding monopolistic practices, and staying innovative. Amrik is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations and customer interactions.

Despite significant investments in the system—time, money, and effort—the expected results were not being achieved. Reports were often generated only after issues had already occurred, leaving little room for proactive management.

One day, Amrik received a call from a frustrated customer who complained that the sales representative was unresponsive and threatened to take his business elsewhere. When Amrik tried to identify the sales rep responsible for the lead, he was shocked to discover that there was no documentation showing how leads were assigned to sales representatives.

Amrik was dealing with two main challenges. First, his business growth was sluggish due to slow conversion. While his current customers were satisfied, the number of new customers converting was surprisingly low.

The second challenge was keeping track of incoming leads each month. Amrik didn’t have direct access to lead data and had to manually gather information from his staff. On top of that, there was no system in place to evaluate the quality of these leads or ensure they were being followed up on regularly.

After some digging, he found out that his small team of 7-8 sales reps was managing fewer than 500 leads using Excel. The team struggled to keep up with so many leads, and tracking and following up on them manually was almost impossible.
